Immigration is checking your University Degree

Posted by fishead soup · November 24, 2005 · 6 replies

Immigration wants to double check with all our degree's. Apparantly some people have been working with fake documents. If you plan on staying and you are legit then its best to get squared up with your local immigration office.

Do you know what the procedure is for getting squared away with the immigration office?

You're school should receive the document soon. Just fill it out and take it to your local immigration office with an original copy of your degree.

that's a good idea.

thanks for the info!

Depending on the country you are teaching in, will depend on the immigration procedure. For korea you need to notorize your degree and have sealed transcripts from your University! It's not that big a deal if your degree is legit!

i heard that this was a sting operation where the the officials were providing the fake degrees and busting the teachers who bought and used them.

any truth to that?

I've never heard about that. I did hear about recruiters selling them and when the officals busted them they sold out the teachers. I wouldnt suggest working with a fake degree.
