To complete or complete?

Hi!

I've got a doubt with one sentence and which of the following two options is the right one. It would be great if you could also explain the reason behind.

1. Help Michael, the student in my class, to complete his homework.

2. Help Michael, the student in my class, complete his homework.

Both are correct. Help can be used with the bare infinitive or to + infinitive. It makes no difference at all. Another example :

This example should help you understand the rule
=
This example should help you to understand the rule
