Text book for 11 year old

Posted by aclteach · September 11, 2019 · 1 replies

Hi, I wonder if anyone can give me advice. I am looking for a text book/program for an 11year old private student. She is probably about A1 level. It is really difficult to find something that is not too babyish but still young person orientated. I am only allowed to buy 1 book by the school. I was thinking Lets Go perhaps but not sure if too young for her? Any help or advice gratefully received.

It's awkward, as she's on the fringe between primary and secondary, but if you want something intellectually challenging, go fo secondary - especially if she's nearer 12 than 10.
Have a look at the =facet_lvar&openOptions[]=facet_format&openOptions[]=facet_exam&openOptions[]=facet_cef"]CUP secondary catalogue. I don't teach that age group myself, but they're the sort of books I'd go for if I did, Some of the authors are known for including cognitive development in their work as well as "just" language learning (eg Herbert Puchta) while personally I like other things written by Ben Goldstein very much.
