ESL Software for Teachers

Posted by EnglishTeacher79 · April 11, 2009 · 3 replies

I'm wondering if teachers would like to share any computer software (either free or those that need to be bought) that they use in their teaching. I'm thinking here of say a crossword puzzle maker or Gerry's Vocabulary Teacher. Or even Concordance or Corpora CDs/programs. Do you have any that you use a lot and which aids your teaching greatly? Please share! Thanks 🙂

Do you mean software to download and install? The only stand alone programs I use are for website building, but on the web I can make everything I need at

Tools for Educators - free worksheet makers, game creators, 100% customizable worksheet generators with images!

and here at

I dont use any software or programs for teaching. I tend to draw or make my own materials or use course books directly. Maybe I am missing out on something useful.

There are a few programs out there. Their value probably lies in how much you use/need them.

One that I know of, worth mentioning, is Hot Potatoes Home Page
That one is free.
