I've been living under a rock...

After living in Korea for about 6 years, I've kind of lost touch with the music scene back home... UNTIL NOW!

I just heard about this site and it's awesome. It's called Pandora. I heard an interview with the website creator and it basically works like this:

  1. You type in a band that you'd like to hear more music like.
  2. It starts streaming songs that are similar in style to your initial band.
  3. You give a thumbs up or thumbs down for each song you hear.
  4. The algorithm makes changes to match your preferences so songs that you'd prefer to hear start showing up more.
  5. Pretty soon you have your own personal radio station (up to 100) that plays music you like.

All music on the site is judged by other musicians and is judeged by over 200 attributes and many details about each attribute. Incredible. Best of all, All Free!

Check it out: Pandora

Haha I know exactly how you feel. My brother is always telling me about the lastest bands and albums out and I can't keep track of it all!

You're not alone. My exposure to the latest music is limited to whichever track one of the mobile phone companies is using at the time. In any case, you soon get to HATE it after a couple of days!

Ouch!

On a side note, I hate my cellphone ring tones because I associate the ringing with bad things: my morning alarm and my school calling about an extra event i should go to.

Hell no, I don't have them as a ringtone! I wouldn't waste my hard-earned Euros lining the pockets of those thieves.
I meant the endless advertising they do on the TV and radio!! It's enough to make you give up TV (I more or less have!)

Ahhh, I gotcha now.
