History
eslHQ was created in 2004 by Eric, who was living and teaching English in South Korea. What started as a collection of free teaching resources grew into a thriving community – the forums attracted over 100,000 registered users, and the site expanded to include thousands of printable flashcards and a worksheet generator that let teachers build custom worksheets from the flashcard images.
After Eric left teaching and South Korea, he kept eslHQ running for the teachers who still relied on it. Registration was closed in 2021, and in the spring of 2026 the site was migrated to a new platform as a free, read-only resource – no accounts or logins required – to keep two decades of content accessible for teachers today.
Eric and his wife still actively run ESLFlashcards.com, a site with thousands of free printable flashcards and worksheet packages.
