@@@ Public school positions for March, 2010

-Qualifications
Bachelor¡¯s degree holders OR 2 years Associate degree holders OR university students who have completed at least 2 years of requirements for Bachelor¡¯s degree.

-Length of Contract
E-2 Visas require contracts to be for one year

-Salary
* Bachelor¡¯s degree holders¡¯ pay varies according to their qualifications and teaching experience. The pay ranges from 1.8 to 2.7 million KRW a month.
* 2 years Associate degree OR university students who have completed at least 2 years of requirements for Bachelor¡¯s degree : The pay is 2.0 million KRW a month. When placed in a less preferred area, there will be extra 100.000KRW every month.

-Schedule
30 classes a week ( 1 class = 40mins ), In the morning : Teach in a regular class. In the afternoon: Teach in the after school program.

-Vacations
Employee shall be entitled to a vacation period of a total of twenty-one (21) calendar days during the Term of the Employment set forth in Article 5 hereof. Employees working in a school system shall have vacation for ten (10) calendar days during the summer and eleven (11) calendar days during the winter recess respectively; employees working in a training center shall take their vacation time in the period outside the training session times. If the requested vacation period interferes with smooth work operations, employer/employee negotiate alternate vacation dates

- Airfare
The entrance allowance of 1,300,000 Korean Won (KRW) shall be loaned to support Employee's entrance to Korea. In case of the termination of this Contract within six (6)months, including renewals, regardless of course or ground therefore, Employee shall immediately pay back Employer the above mentioned loan. If Employee works more than six (6) months during the term of Employment from the date of commencement, Employee's obligation to pay back the loan provided pursuant to this provision shall be waived by Employer.

- Hosuing
Employer shall provide Employee with housing selected by Employer. Housing selected by Employer may be, including but not limited to, a leased house, a studio-type room
or an apartment. Any and all fees, charges, costs, taxes, expenses, etc. incurred in using the housing shall be borne by Employee.

- Other Benefits
¢Ù Employee shall be entitled to one time only settlement allowance of 300,000 Korean Won (KRW) when he/she first arrives in Korea.
¢Ú Employer shall provide Employee with half of the medical insurance pursuant to the National Medical Insurance Act of Korea. In the event Employee has his/her family living with him or her in Korea, Employer will also provide and pay for medical insurance premium for Employee's family.
¢Ü Employees working for more than one school are eligible for a multiple school teaching allowance of 100,000 Korean Won (KRW) for two schools (including the main school) or maximum of 150,000 Korean Won (KRW) for three or more schools per month.
¢Ý Employees with the exception of Canadians, shall be eligible for exemption from paying Korean income tax during the period of the first two years if he/she provides the following documents to the employer before the first payment of salary:
1) "Residence Certificate" issued by a competent authority of employee's resident country
2) "An Application for Tax Exemption" on non-resident's Korean source income provided under the Korean Tax Treaty. If employee has already worked more than two years in Korea, he/she shall not be eligible for tax exemption.
¢Þ The employer shall provide employee with half of the national pension plan deduction (approximately 4.5% of salary) pursuant to the National Pension Corporation Act of Korea. American or Canadian employee is eligible for a pension distribution refund if he/she submits the required documents to the Korean National Pension Corporation when he/she leaves Korea after the completion of his/her contract.
¢ß Employee shall be entitled to severance pay (equivalent to approximate one month's salary), upon successful completion of his/her duties.

>> List of documents required for a teaching visa.
1. Completed Application for A
2. Application from A ¨C Personal medical assessment & Personal Essay (max. 1000 words)
3. 1 passport sized photo in JPG format (upload it on the TaLK website)
4. A less plan for teaching English for a 40 minute class
5. Sealed transcript showing at least 2 years of courses.
If the transcript is unsealed, it needs to have an appostile certification number and stamp from Department of Foreign Affairs in the applicant¡¯s home country.
A gyopo who is a freshman or sophomore in university can provide the transcript at the time when the application is submitted.
Certificate of Studentship can be used in case when the transcript can¡¯t show proof of enrollment in university
6. 2 Sealed recommendation letters
Professors from the enrolled university
High school teacher, ex-employers or Justice of the Peace
7. Criminal Background Check (Country level) ¨C A Letter of pledge
note: Reference cannot be used as Criminal Background Check.
8. Copy of Passport
9. Copy of permanent residence visa (for gyopos)
10.Certificate of graduation of high school or transcript(If necessary)

We then guide you through the process of interviewing with employers and obtaining a Visa. While the visa process is being take care of, we will organize your flight to Korea and your school will pay for it in advance!
