Tips for a weeklong course for highschool English teachers Hi folks,
I have a new, short-term job coming up. I've been coerced into teaching some Chinese middle school and high school teachers. It'll be 17 hours for just 1 week. I've received absolutely no other instruction, and have no idea what their English level is.
Personally, I believe that there is little I can do to improve their English in such a short time, so I'm planning to focus on methodology. Basically, I'd like to introduce some more communicative methods. I realize that the teachers' English level could be pretty basic, so I'm planning to demonstrate the methods rather than simply explaining them. I also know that they are primarily concerned with preparing students for exams. One thing I'd like to do is ask them to show me how they teach lessons. I've asked them to bring their textbooks.
Anyways.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Dave
