thematic unit hi, ı'd like to ask what a thematic unit is.. I have to prepare a unit but ı have no idea about what it is:confused: |
Re: thematic unit Isn't it just a unit with several different activities - vocabulary, speaking, reading, writing, target language introduction ... all based around a central theme, say transportation. |
Re: thematic unit Instead of building a lesson around a grammar point, you build a lesson around a topic. When you're giving the lesson, any grammar mistakes or misused vocabulary proves less important than understanding and applying the topic. As Mark has said, a topic on transportation might give students the skills to successfully navigate the public transportation system in England. They would learn phrases for purchasing tickets, finding a station, and perhaps asking for help. The end of the lesson would likely have a role play with one student acting as a tourist there and another the station master or Londoner offering assistance. I hope this helps. Good luck! |
Re: thematic unit thank both of you very much.....It gave a good idea to me..It seems that it is communicative one... |
