Smile Speaking English at the Doctor's Office

I just recently had to go to the doctor, and as I live in Spain I find myself constantly worrying if I am explaining myself and my symptoms correctly.

If you do not describe your pain or issue clearly, your doctor will not be able to diagnose your problem properly or as easily.

This prompted me to write a new newsletter dealing with this subject. It includes common questions that your doctor might ask you, directions they you might receive and also some phrasal verbs.

My newsletter subscribers have really enjoyed it and I wanted to post it here as well so more people can benefit from it.

Speaking English in the Doctor's Office Newsletter.

Have a great day!

You know, I feel your pain. Two weeks ago, I went to the Dentist's office and had a cavity drilled and filled. Unfortunately, I think he did a bad job because now, my tooth hurts (the same one). I live in South Korea and am fluent in English and Spanish, but not Korean (low-beginner). I am scared as tomorrow I am going to a new dentist and am figuring out how to tell him the other one screwed up. Boy are my teeth sensitive right now!

There is a lesson plan for medical professionals here, on getting a patient's information

It could be used as is for patients as well.

There are some other hospital procedure worksheets as well there
Medical English worksheets, teaching resources and free activities for healthcare professionals

You can also find some common health problem flashcards, game cards and worksheets here
