Incorporating the Family of the ESL student

Howdy..
So a new year starts here in the states and I am hurdling over some obstacles. one which I find quite important is trying to incorporate the parents of my ESL students into their education. My question is does anyone know of any good websites that dedicate their space to this purpose. Where parents can go and have their concerns answered in their language as well as finding ways of educating themselves and where they can have a connect link to the kids homework , improvement and contact with the teacher via the internet???
Would appreciate anything you can throw at me.
thanks a bunch!!!!:becky:

Re: Incorporating the Family of the ESL student

I've just come across these two articles which may be of interest :
http://www.teachingenglish.org.uk/th..._school1.shtml
http://www.teachingenglish.org.uk/th..._school2.shtml

Also, you could think about setting up a blog to let parents know what the kids are doing in class, what the hw is, publish a portfolio of their work etc. My son's history teacher runs one and it's very useful. For an article on this see
http://www.teachingenglish.org.uk/th...blogging.shtml
and the links it contains.
