It does depend on what you're interested in but here are a couple.
Structure of Social Action by Atkinson and Heritage
- This is a little heavy but really says a lot about conversation through conversation analysis and is a nice break away from grammar and structure books.
Principles & Practice in Applied Linguistics, Studies in honour of H.G. Widdowson
- a good overall look at Appilied Linguistics and philosophy behind teaching a language |
