the winter holiday, any plans?

When does everyone go on Christmas/New Year/winter holiday? How long is it?

Do you have any special plans?

Some of my french students go skiing for a week. Others stay at home and have relatives visiting them. We have a two-week holiday in France. Personally I'm going to my house my English friends'house. We've been invited to take part in a murder mystery dinner party. I don't know what that it!!!:)

Oooh, you'll have a laugh. Everyone goes in character (you'll be told who you must be by the host before you go) and stays in character the whole evening. There'll be a murder, usually fake although sometimes if too much alcohol has been consumed before the dinner........., and then the host will open a series on envelopes during the evening with clues as to who the murderer is. I did a couple back in London and we had a riot.

As for my holidays, I'll take 2 weeks and try to stay away from the computer. Looking for cheap flights to get off the island - fancy somewhere cold. Anyone been to Riga? Looks nice and for €200 I can get there and back with my wife and daughter.

Whatever you guys do, have a good one. It's been nice chewing the fat with you all this year - I'm looking forward to many more.
