Leaving Korea Question  Hi All, I have been in Korea since last February and will be leaving next month to go home. I decided not to renew my contract. I have really enjoyed working in Korea, but need to go home to take care of business. I may return in the fall of 2007 for another teaching job. I will receive my bonus, final pay and flight reimbursement next month. My question is this: will I have any difficulty getting another job and visa if I return to the country a few months after leaving. I've not heard of anyone doing this and just want to be sure that I don't run into a problem when I return to Korea. I can and will get a letter of recommendation from my current school and both they and I are on good terms. However, when I return I will look to work in a metro area, not rural where I am now. Thanks for the help |
Re: Leaving Korea Question I've done it a few times and so has my wife. You won't have any problems. |
Re: Leaving Korea Question Once you finish your job and leave Korean then your visa (E-2 if you are not married) will be finished. It will be fine to come back later on, get another job and visa. Many people finish their contract, go back home for a while and then come back and get a new job. No worries! I left Korea back in 2005, did a midnight run as the school was so bad and came back the next month and got another job and visa. There was no problem. Best of luck! |
