Default Good blog... and I hate blogs mostly, other question.

The wife and I are more interested in living in a rural part of Japan as opposed to Tokyo or the other bigger cities. We don't go out to bars, we don't party much so it seems a better fit. Transportation costs to and fro are probably lower also(walk or bike to work). Have any of you lived/worked in rural Japan. How much lower(if lower) was your cost of living? I would imagine lower. Has anyone been where he is or a similar place, thoughts? Would we save more working/living in a rural place in Japan as opposed to Tokyo and such?

I like the line he has about one man's hinterland is another man's fascinating place.

Thoughts?

Hi tig maranz. im takahiro. i checked the information about house rent of rural parts of japan. My hometown is called "Chigasaki" which is on coastside and it takes 1hour to get Tokyo by train. there are many foreigners. and i think they are enjoying their lives there. Chigasaki is not so big, but not so small that i think you can find a job.

the cost of apartments there is about 100000 Japanese yen per a month. it has 2 rooms, livingroom, kitchen, and dining room. you need talk with the owner of the apartment to take your cat. i think 50% of owners would allow you to do. i guess cats are easier to take than dogs because cats dont bark loudly.

you can find cheaper apartments in other cities. but those cities are too far from big cities like Tokyo and those cities are too small to find jobs.

i hope this would help you. take care!!
