If you are referring to the U.S.; university jobs, colleges, and adult ed. all require that you have an MA is either TESL, Linguistics, English, and possibly Foreign Languages. Community Colleges & Adult ed. programs changed their requirements about 3 years ago and are now very strict on this policy. If you apply, you will have to submit an official copy of your transcripts once hired.
Outside of the States, the rules change a bit. I think in England you have to have an MA or equivalent for university positions. But other countries...well, experience can take you a long way. |
