| | Cactus TEFL Hi
Does anyone know anything, or heard anything about Cactus TEFL? It seems that they are based in the UK but run CELTA courses in various parts of the world.
I have to admit I'm interested in taking the CELTA ( I was scheduled for a course in Australia but left to come back to Korea) and while I know - thanks to Whistleblower - that there is a course in Seoul, I'm liking the sound of going to Thailand or Vietnam.
Any info would be most welcome.

Cactus TEFL is an organisation which provides information and advice about different TEFL courses worldwide. As far as I know (please correct me if I'm wrong, anyone!) they do not actually run courses themselves, but would be able to help you find a course.
When you've found a CELTA course which interests you, and also when you're looking for a job after your course, I would advise researching school - ask a question in this forum, or do a google search for the name of the school. Teachers who have had negative experiences are very quick to write about them online, so a search will often turn up some useful information about a school!
I hope this helps.

| | Re: Cactus TEFL I would advice you contact the British Council in those Countries (Thailand or Vietnam) and they would be able to provide further information about teacher training etc.
Thailand Teacher Training: http://www.britishcouncil.org/thaila...evelopment.htm
Vietnam Teacher Training: http://www.britishcouncil.org/vietna...r-training.htm
If the British Council in those countries don't offer the CELTA Course, they probably know a reputable provider for the Course and offer advice about reputable employers in the country.
Hope that helps. |

| | Re: Cactus TEFL Cactus TEFL is for advice and placement - jobs, courses etc, but Cactus Language Training run their own language courses - not just English. But it's the same organisation. They're very glossy and seem reputable from all the info they give on their website.
I can't see anything about their own teacher training courses though, just other people's. |
