Hello all. Bernice is looking for a permanent home! She is part maltese, part Yorkie, and I see a little schnauzer in her.
We don't know her specific age, but we believe that she is around 7-8 years old. Is finishing medication, but is ready to go. She is a sweet dog, who can be described as a lap dog, but also can be completely independent and sleep right next to you. She sleeps a lot, but also loves attention when you give it to her. She is almost completely potty trained (wasn't at all when I took her in) with very few accidents. She gets along well with other dogs, so she would be a good companion not only for you, but for your current pet if you have.
Health:
ear mites - almost fully recovered
heartworm - negative
bacteria infection - completely recovered
vaccinations - will have soon (as soon as i get paid. )
previous health history - unknown
other: she has a small growth in her abdomen that the vet says is nothing to worry about (not cancerous). She also has cataracts in her eyes, but can see fine still. She also has a little arthritis, but she handles it well. She is on a diet, and losing some weight has greatly helped. She still has a lot of life left, and she is very happy to be out of the shelter. SHe has a lot of love and joy to give!
Personality:
As stated before, she has a sweet, and very playful personality. She is one of the most unique dogs i have ever taken in. She is pretty quiet. She loves to stick her tongue out at you, and loves to go out for walks, even though she isn't very fast. Overall, she is a really great dog, and whoever takes her will love her. She is very playful, but very relaxed. Not hyper at all. She can sleep all day, or if you want her to, play all day, but in a completely relaxed, non super hyper way. Bottom line, If my apartment was bigger, i would consider keeping her myself.
Although just finishing up her meds, she is ready to go, so if you are interested in meeting her, call me at 010-7743-8655, or email me at goesslry (at) gmail.com.
