Good props for an Oral Speaking Class?

I had 24 students in my class and decided to use four die to decide who should speak next, asking a random student to roll. That was until it dawned on me that with four die, the students numbered 1-3 would never speak. DOH!

I saw someone mentioned using toilet paper, does anyone have any other props they found particularly effective in a speaking English class?

Please also write how you used them:D

A very simple tool is a spinner. You can buy them from Lakeshore Learning (this company has a website). These spinners have the numbers 1-6. Or, if you wish, you can make your own. If you want to get fancy, you can use Microsoft Excel to make a pie chart with any number of slices you wish (8 or 10 perhaps). Then make every slice a different color, and put a different number on each slice. Make the pie chart big, print it out on a color printer, and have it laminated. Attach an arrow that students spin, and you are ready to go!

I normally play "pass the mike" where students pass a mike around. I play music any kind while the mike's being passed around, as soon a the music stops, whoever has the mike speaks. you can use 2/3 mikes, it becomes more fun and quick if you have a big class. youca buy toy microphones not a real mike...or use pom poms or a ball.
