otherwise More than seventy years ago, when I was still a student, I wrote a sentence:
-The scenes that John thought ideal were obstructed __ adopting a cultural context.
I used otherwise than, but my teacher said it was wrong, without giving any reason. I could not ask him now, since he is in his grave. Why is my sentence wrong? What word should I use if not otherwise than? |
