Cool First Epistle to the Corinthians

In the First Corinthians, I found a sentence:

I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.

In another edition, New Living Translation, this sentence has been changed:

I decided that while I was with you I would forget everything except Jesus Christ, the one who was crucified.

Is the original translation grammatical?

Yes, but what version of the bible did the first version come from? The King James? if so then remember that the English it contains was first written in 1611, then revised in 1769. That means the grammar is somewhere between 250 and 400 years old. English has changed radically in that time - don't expect to find the same lexis or grammatical constructions that you would in modern English.

By the way, did you see the replies to your previous posts? As you haven't replied, I wonder if you've missed them?
