Hello

Would you please tell me the difference among the sentences ?
which one is more common and is preffered in American or British version?

-He gave me a lift to the station.
-He gave me a ride to the station.
-He drove me to the station.
-He took me to the station.
-He ran me to the station.

Thank you in advance.

-He gave me a lift to the station. = in his car - Brit. English vs
- He gave me a ride to the station. = in his car - Am. English

Maybe you could use the two above for a lift/ride on a motorbike too?

-He drove me to the station. = in a car
-He took me to the station. = just means "he accompanied me" - for example, if I didn't know where the station was he could have gone with me on the bus.

-He ran me to the station. = in a car. Certainly Brit.English. I'm not sure if it's used in America - ??

So all of them have the same meaning except took which doesn't (necessarily) specify that a car was involved - though it may have been.
