Hi ,

Which sentence should i use?

1. This book contains grammatical items which the author feels are important for a pupil.

2. This book contains grammatical items which the author feels is important for a pupil.

are.
The sense of the sentence is :
This book contains grammatical items.
Grammatical items are important for a pupil.

ie the relative pronoun which refers back to and substitutes for "grammatical items" - plural. So the verb should be plural too.
