Re: conjunction Grammatically, yes. They're not all conjunctions however - still and however are adverbs. And notice that there's considerable stylistic difference between them. Yet suggests a formal style and would be much more common in written English, as would however. Still, on the other hand, is informal and would be much more likely in spoken English. But is neutral and could occur in any style. So from that point of view they're not interchangeable. |
