Default resigning but maybe no payment?

Hello,

I'm not sure if this is the right place for my post.

I have a problem and would need your suggestions what to do. This is the situation:

I have signed a contract with a school running until 6/2007, teaching 9 hours/week at a certain company. The company has decided not to have classes in December, but my boss told me that I will get payed anyway as my contract runs until 6/2007.

I'm planning to leave middle of December for good and fear that, if I tell them now, they won't pay my December salary, as I don't work in December (which is not due to my fault, but the company's wish)

I actually wanted to tell them at the end of November that I was leaving. Giving them some time to find a new teacher for January. But what, if my boss doesn't want to pay me?

The other option would be to receive the money and then tell them that I won't come back. I'm not very comfortable with that solution. I also have to return books, CD's and a CD player to them, so just not coming back isn't an option either.

Does anybody have experience with Spanish schools/employers? Can you give me your ideas about how to handle this situation please? Thanks so much!!

Frauke
