Default Re: Tips for teaching pronunciation?

I found that Scrabble tiles are wonderful teaching aids for teaching phonics. You can say a word and the student must spell it with the tiles, or you spell a word with the tiles and the student pronounces it. They are great because you can change vowel sounds, beginning sounds, or end sounds while keeping the rest of the word the same. The student can visualize that certain combinations (almost) always produce the same sound. It is more engaging than writing the words.
