"The" is often used with hotel names, especially if the name comes before the word Hotel (or equivalent), or if the name is used alone - eg I stayed at the Hilton Hotel / I stayed at the Hilton. But it's flexible - if you Google eg "stayed at Hilton Hotel" you'll find plenty of examples. The only time it would be unlikely to be used is if the name is the proprietor's : I stayed at Grey's Hotel in Brighton / I stayed at Grey's. .
When the word Hotel comes first, it's even more flexible. I stayed at the Hotel Newton still sounds more likely to me, but on Google I found plenty of examples without the article, eg Has anyone stayed at Hotel Monaco in downtown Portland?, which sounded fine. |
