Thats a great game for creating silly sentences. Another activity I have used with yound children is to write a base sentence such as
The dog can_____ on a piece of cardboard. Where the missing word is you need to cut a horizontal slit where the line for the word is and also directly above where the word would be. Then cut a long thin strip, like a thin bookmark, and write a list of actions the dog could do, such a bark, sit, run, jump, sleep, eat and this strip is fed into the slit and moved up and down to create a new sentence. It provides an opportunity for repeated reading and also is a fun way to read and expand vocabulary. The students could also choose a sentence and copy it and illustrate if as well.
