Re: Hang on VS Wait a minute Yes, it means "wait" but it's more informal. You can say just "hang on" or "hang on a minute/moment" etc. You'd use it in conversation with your friends for example. If you were going out to a restaurant the conversation might go something like this :
A : Come on, it's late. We booked the table for eight and it's already 7.45.
B : Hang on a minute - I just want to check that all the windows are closed before we leave. |
