Have you tried some graded readers? They are books that are written with easier language.
You can find any of the classic novels like this.
In general, I like to keep the readings I give ESL students short because I find it is so much work that they become tired or distracted and give up. So I use things like the newspaper, Internet, and magazines. Magazines are great because they have pictures and students can find ones that are written about topics they enjoy. |
