Honestly, I can understand why they only hire native speakers, especially in such a competitive industry. I work for a rather cheap teaching company in Japan who amongst the native speakers also hire many non native speakers for placement in public schools. Honestly, some of them I cannot understand their English at all and their vocabulary is very limited. I guess it is fine for teaching young kids but I cannot help but feel the schools are being sold short. |
